Advocare Stadium Spot

Another Advocare commercial, done with iLevel Media. This time, I collected stadium construction reference from the internet, and visited our gorgeous stadium, Miller park, for construction details.

Advocare Clock Spot

Done with iLevel Media. Funny story: This was the first job that I did for them, in 2004. When I cold-called them, they had already contracted a physical model builder to hand-build a working flip-clock. My rates were so reasonable that iLevel also contracted me to build and animate the clock in 3d.
One week later my animation was done. But at the video shoot, the physical model failed tragically. I looked high and low for good reference for the clock. In the end, nothing compared to the footage of the flip clock in the movie Groundhog Day.

Corelle Spinning Plates

In previous incarnations of this commercial, the plates had been rotated on a spindle, then the spindle rotoscoped out of the video.
For this animation, I simply matched the plate rotation and fall frame-by-frame from that video.
Subsequent iterations of this commercial simply required me to swap old plate designs with new ones.

2012 Devolution Teaser

Done for my good friends at Midwest Studios. The movie is due out later this year.

5-Star Heart Hospital

Television commercial done for Independent Studios in Milwaukee.

2 Kinds of Cheese

Television commercial done for Independent Studios in Milwaukee.
A physical model of the foreground of the factory was made, including all of the conveyors in front of the 2 major elevators. I created and animated the factory background.

Monster On The Stairs

One of a multitude of animations that I did for the movie Guardians, for Lightening Rod Studios in 2004.

Monster In The Woods

One of a multitude of animations that I did for the movie Guardians, for Lightening Rod Studios in 2004.

Monster Leaping

One of a multitude of animations that I did for the movie Guardians, for Lightening Rod Studios in 2004.

Monster Howl

One of a multitude of animations that I did for the movie Guardians, for Lightening Rod Studios in 2004.

Orthopedic Associates of Wisconsin (Skeleton)

A recent television commercial that I did with iLevel Media.
The process of applying motion capture to a 3d model can be convoluted, but it is pretty straight forward. My thanks to the department and students of Milwaukee Area Technical College’s animation department for their excellent technical skill and use of their motion capture studio.
The skeleton and skin of the woman came from my very large 3d object library. But much work had to be done to both the skin and bones models, modifying them to match the shape and proportions of the actress for the seemless fade between live action and 3d.
There was some initial concern that having a skeleton in a TV commercial would convey a negative message. But that concern was overcome by the visual novelty of using a 3d motion capture figure in a regional market television commercial.

Orthopedic Associates of Wisconsin (Character)

My second animated commercial for Orthopedic Associates of Wisconsin. Editing, music choice and all animation.

Wolverine Boot

3d for a television commercial done for Aurum Design.
The goal was to make the transitions between the video of the boot indistinguishable - or at least nunoticeable - from the 3d portions.
